ABOUT MANDY
I’m Dr. Mandy Cisler, a licensed therapist with over a decade of experience supporting women who are tired of overfunctioning, fawning, or relational patterns that no longer serve them—and are ready for deeper, embodied transformation.
My background is in clinical practice, counselor education, research, and mind‑body methods. I offer trauma-informed, relational, and somatic-aware therapy that helps you move beyond surface-level coping toward meaningful shifts in how you experience yourself and your life.
Healing begins with presence—noticing what’s happening in your body, emotions, and thoughts—and creating space for long-standing patterns to soften. We explore what’s been shaping your nervous system, relational habits, and internal stories, and cultivate more aligned ways of living.
MY STORY
Where I Come From
I’m a Pittsburgh native, now living in California, and I’ve always been deeply curious about how our early experiences shape who we become. Growing up in a family shaped by generational patterns—codependency, alcoholism, mental health challenges—I developed creative ways to protect myself. Over time, these strategies began to hold me back, making it harder to live authentically.
Facing My Anxiety
As an adult, I noticed anxiety creeping in—affecting my relationships, career, and ability to feel at peace within myself. I found myself caught in cycles of stress and self-criticism, and no matter how hard I tried, old patterns kept showing up. These experiences taught me the importance of understanding not just my mind, but my body and emotions too.
My Healing Journey
Driven by curiosity and a desire for change, I pursued a PhD in counseling and immersed myself in therapy, somatic approaches, and integrative body psychotherapy. I learned how to regulate my nervous system, work with stored tension, and reconnect with parts of myself I had once ignored or protected. This journey has been gradual, but deeply transformative.
Today
I now feel safer in my body and more grounded in life. Anxiety no longer has the hold it once did, and I’ve learned to navigate connection and disconnection with more ease. While growth is ongoing, I live more fully, embracing who I am and the life I want to create.
Supporting You
I know firsthand how exhausting being in a constant fawning state (overfunctioning, perfectionism, and people-pleasing) can be. I’ve been where you are, and I understand the courage it takes to seek support. In therapy, I guide women through anxiety, relational patterns, and deeper emotional work—helping you reconnect with your body, your inner guidance, and your authentic self.
My Values
Mind–Body Integration
Your body holds wisdom. We work with both sensations and thoughts to support deeper awareness and lasting change.
Compassion & Presence
I offer a nonjudgmental space where you are welcomed exactly as you are.
Equity & Inclusivity
I am committed to practicing with cultural humility, honoring diverse identities, and actively working against systems of oppression.
